Weird West DnD Adventure Writers

A Free Two-Week School Holiday Program

Ever wanted to create your own epic adventure? Ready to become the hero of your own story?

Join us for a journey into the Weird West, where you design the characters, shape the world, and bring the story to life, all set in a wild, reimagined version of our area.

What You’ll Do:

Over two weeks, you’ll dive into a collaborative tabletop roleplaying campaign – think Critical Role or Dimension 20, but you’re in the driver’s seat. With help and guidance from our Game Masters, you’ll:

• Create and play unique characters in an imaginative shared world
• Write and lead sections of the adventure while playing through others’ creations
• Build skills in storytelling, improvisation, dialogue, and teamwork
• Connect with other young creatives in a supportive, inclusive space

This is the perfect FIRST-TIME experience for those wanting to try a role-playing game for the first time. No experience needed.

What Makes This Different?

This isn’t just playing games; it’s making the games you’ll play. Whether you’re confident and outgoing or prefer to observe and contribute quietly, there’s space for you here. Our facilitators (local teachers, writers, and performers) guide every session, ensuring everyone has a chance to shine.

Plus, it’s completely free and catered! Yum, snacks.

Who Should Join?

Young people aged 15-24 who love storytelling, gaming, fantasy worlds, or just want to try something new in a fun, face-to-face environment. No experience necessary, just bring your imagination!

Limited Spaces Available

With only 15 spots, you’ll get personalised attention and the chance to truly shape the story.

Meet your hosts! Bilal Hafda & Kevin Ngo

Bilal Hafda and Kevin Ngo are two Western Sydney artists and teachers that have worked together running creative writing and storytelling classes for over a decade. As a pair they’ve performed on stage, taught in schools, and hosted a podcast all about what it’s like to be an artist in Sydney. They have also run D&D sessions together before, and have designed this one to be the perfect first-time experience for people new to role-playing adventures.
