Calling emerging visual artists!
Outloud is seeking three emerging visual artists (16–25) for nganura – من جيل لجيل (Min Jil La Jil) (From Generation to Generation)— an intergenerational arts project exploring identity, migration, memory and belonging through storytelling and visual art.
This year, the project continues its journey, celebrating the stories and lived experiences of people connected to Lebanon. Selected artists will take part in conversations with Aunty Lyn Martin and Alissar Chidiac @alissar_burramatta, exploring themes of place, migration, identity, family, memory and belonging in the context of Bankstown.
We’re looking for artists who:
– Are 16–25 years old
– Have a meaningful connection to Lebanon (whether that’s identifying as Lebanese, being part of the diaspora, being born or having lived in Lebanon, or having family, cultural or community ties to the country)
– Live, work or have a strong connection to Bankstown and/or Western Sydney
– Work in a visual art medium – painting, drawing, illustration, digital art or mixed media
Artists at all stages of their creative journey are encouraged to apply. If you are emerging, we also encourage you to apply
