Are you a young person from Western Sydney who loves art? Do you want a career in the arts as an artist or arts worker? Are you looking to:
– meet and collaborate with like-minded creatives
– build your confidence in speaking about the art you see
– get a free ticket each month to visit new arts venues and see more and different types of art
– develop a connection with a range of professional artists, arts organisations and venues
– get support to make artwork
– have those artists see your work
– shape the way that Outloud runs through co-designing projects and having input into policies, processes and project curation
We have an awesome opportunity for you!
Outloud Ensemble is a group of emerging artists and arts workers aged 14-25! This opportunity will help you develop professionally, bringing you into the right spaces to express your creativity.
What being a part of the Ensemble will look like:
– Each month, the Ensemble will attend art shows in various mediums – films, theatre, visual arts etc.
– After these shows, we will chat and discuss the work we saw and get your opinion and input on Outlouds projects and how we do things.
– We then support you in developing and presenting your creative project inspired by the work you have seen! This could be a poem, dance, painting, essay, monologue, short film or performance – anything within your creative practice.
What we will do: We’ll pay you $200 for a year-long engagement (attending a minimum of 8 meetings) and some funding for art materials. We’ll also pay for your tickets to the shows, exhibitions and performances. There’ll be snacks at meetings, too!
Please note that meetings/shows will be held across Sydney, and support with accessing public transport will be available.
If any questions, feel free to contact Nicole on projects@outloud.org.au.
